Sawyer Hollenshead

Current Status

I’m a web designer / front-end developer who enjoys working on interesting projects that are simple, functional, and fun to use. On the side, I write about WordPress for Smashing Magazine and Theme.it. I also typically have two or three side projects that I work on that may eventually see the light of day. I’m always learning.

I’m currently attending Rochester Institute of Technology and studying New Media Interactive Development [WTF?]. On the side I work on several personal projects and freelance gigs that interest me.

My Background

I grew up in South-Central Pennsylvania on my family's dairy farm. In 5th grade I created my first website on Geocities where I posted funny pictures of myself and people could write on my guestbook. Basically, I created Facebook when I was 10. When I was a sophomore in High School I realized I could make a few bucks from this web design thing and I began to teach myself HTML/CSS and Photoshop. A year later I landed my first client who wasn't a family member. The rest is history.
